Earlier, Chantilly/Tiffany cats came only in chocolate coat color. Nowadays, a variety of colors are acceptable in the breed. People who are attracted to the breed have a wonderful opportunity to choose between a few color patterns. The Chantilly or Tiffany cat comes only in solid and tabby colors. Any spotting is considered a serious fault and does not allow a Chantilly cat to be shown in a show ring. Chantilly/Tiffany cats come in deep chocolate, blue, black, lilac, and cinnamon.
Chocolate is the original color of the breed. The Chantilly/Tiffany cat is often referred to as a breed for chocoholics. Lilac is a mixture of chocolate with milk. Cinnamon is close to brown, yet is slightly lighter. Chantilly cats may be also tabby. In tabby cats, there is always a good background color that matches well the second color. Black Chantilly/Tiffany cats are not easily available. This color is the most rare in the breed. This is connected with the fact that breeders always tried to focus on the original colors of the breed.
Sometimes, shorthaired kittens occur in a litter. Though they are not eligible for showing, they tend to make good pets. Such cats have good temperament qualities and are easy to groom.
It should be mentioned that Chantilly/Tiffany cats develop their coloration slowly. Sometimes, complete coloration is acquired by the age of 1-2 years old. By this age, the eyes and coat of Chantilly/Tiffany cats appear in all the beauty.
